FEAST YOUR EYES: Funeral For a Nic Cage Meme, or, Cage-Free

FEAST YOUR EYES is a new, intimate dinner-and-a-movie concept conceived by Bret Berg (formerly of Cinefamily, Mindwebs) and chef Gary Campbell (Thank You For Coming, Elf, Cinefamily's "Source Family and "Junk" pop-ups), with event production support from Katharine Relth (the IDA, Outdoor Movies in Atwater). The pilot event, titled "Funeral For a Nic Cage Meme, or, Cage-Free," was hosted at a private residence in Silverlake and explored fourth-dimensional takes on the worlds of seafood and poultry, per Nic’s new life as a "carnalvore." Before a feature film presentation of Red Rock West (1993), guests experienced a four-course meal during a curated video tour of "Cages Through the Ages," a piece edited specifically for this event which mines Cage’s most potent, believable and exciting onscreen moments.

Party Animal Beer Koozie

I recently teamed up with Los Angeles Swimmin to sell some limited edition beer koozies I designed. If you're ever out partying like an animal and find your hand is cold and your brew is warm, you should consider purchasing one. You should check out some of the other cool LA Swimmin gear while you're visiting their site. I've been eyeing this license plate holder for some time...

Photo shoot with friends

Morgan rented a strobe kit and picked up a roll of brown seamless the other weekend so we could take some photographs. We invited a few friends over to hang out, take pictures and drink beer. Of course, the cats made a few appearances as well.

Hiking Tuna Canyon in Malibu

Over winter break, Morgan and I went on one of the most beautiful hikes I've been on in the Santa Monica Mountains. The drive to the trailhead is long, but definitely worth it. You get an amazing view of Malibu and the Pacific Ocean, and once you pass through the saddle of the mountain, you see all of the valley. I highly recommend making the drive up here. More photos after the jump.
